GREETINGS

Takara Shuzo's Kurokabegura distillery has been operating in Takanabe Town since 1952. Overlooking the Hyuga Nada Sea, we have been dedicated to crafting shochu while being caressed by the ocean breeze. By combining traditional methods passed down through generations in Miyazaki with Takara Shuzo's cutting-edge technology, we carefully produce a variety of shochu, including "IKKOMON" and "ISAINA"

IKKOMON

“IKKOMON” is a 100% sweetpotato shochu made with sweetpotato, even the koji (malted rice) is made from sweetpotato. Please enjoy the slightly sweet and elegant aroma and flavor of the original sweetpotato that can be felt because it is made from 100% sweetpotato.

ISAINA

"ISAINA" is a new-age shochu made entirely from sweet potatoes, including the koji, and fermented with a unique aroma yeast. This innovative shochu offers a dramatic shift in aroma when enjoyed with soda or on the rocks, making it perfect for any occasion from the first sip to after dinner. ISAINA has won gold medals at prestigious international spirits competitions such as IWSC 2022, SFWSC 2022, and ISC 2023.

YOKAICHI

The goal of “Yokaichi” (sweetpotato) was to create a rich, crisp, and refreshing sake that can be enjoyed continuously. This is made possible by the “New Sukkiri (refreshing) Process,” which utilizes Takara Shuzo's proprietary blending technology. This is achieved by developing and carefully selecting a variety of sweetpotato shochu with different flavors and blending them in the optimum ratio, resulting in a richness that can be enjoyed with water and a crisp finish that is perfect as a food sake.

KOHAKUNOYOKAICHI

Slow aging in oak barrels gives it an amber glow. By using only barrel-aged shochu, we have achieved a mellow aroma and a clean, mellow taste that is unique to barley. Enjoy this luxurious barley shochu carefully crafted with care during or after a meal.

By Toji and staff

It took six years to develop the sweet potato koji for "IKKOMON" The excitement and surprise I felt when I first tasted a shochu made entirely from sweet potatoes and sweet potato koji is something I will never forget. "Ikkokutsu" is a product that has exceeded our expectations, fully expressing the natural aroma of sweet potatoes.

How to drink recommended by the brewery, recommended snacks

We recommend enjoying "IKKOMON" on the rocks first. This allows you to experience the pure, slightly sweet, and elegant aroma of the sweet potato, as well as its rich, authentic flavor.
